In "Suspense"

I got the opportunity to meet my favorite suspense writer, Mary Higgins Clark, tonight at a high school in Layton. She and her daughter, Carol Higgins Clark, were the visiting authors for the Davis Libraries. Cool huh? First, we waited in line to get in the auditorium to listen to them both answer questions. Then we had to wait in line(about an hour and a half) for book signing! They both had new books come out this month, so I bought them for signing. I also got my picture with them! It's not very often in life you get to meet renowned authors! Mary Higgins Clark's book is Just Take My Heart and Carol Higgins Clark's book is Cursed. I haven't read them yet. And I know I can't start Mary's book until I have time to read all through the night! Her books are hard to put down once you start!

Tulip Festival

Yesterday, a friend and I went to the Tulip Festival at the Thanksgiving Point Gardens. Needless to say, with the cold weather we have been experiencing recently, the majority of tulips had not bloomed yet. Hence, I was disappointed with not seeing the hundreds of tulips in bloom! It would have been so much more beautiful there on the grounds! But I am planning on returning to the gardens in May to see all the flowers! The gardens at Thanksgiving Point are comparable to the temple grounds in beauty, but it covers a lot more acres of land! It's absolutely gorgeous when all the flowers and trees are in bloom! Plus the waterfalls and ponds add to the beauty too! If you are wanting a peaceful, beautiful place to walk around, I recommend these gardens!

Spring Break

I always look forward to Spring Break at school! It gives me a chance to collect the energy I need to get through the last 38 days of work! In the past I've always gone on some sort of trip during the break. This year I stayed close to home. I spent the first 3 days in Logan enjoying family and general conference. The middle 3 days, I got a huge list of things done on my "to do" list at home in Bountiful. The last 3 days, I took mom and dad down to Ephraim to JoAnn and Mike's home. Alan and Barbara met us there. Not only did we have a good time conversing with each other, but we had delicious meals of the new recipes JoAnn wanted to try on us. Also, we made truffles and fudge(cut out Easter shapes with cookie cutters). All of us were back to our own home by Saturday night, so we could enjoy the Easter/Resurrection morn in our own wards and our own way!

Making truffles is a messy affair!
